Let's establish the categories.
This blog will discuss 1) Acro Yoga 2) Vinyasa flow 3) Pranayama 4) Meditation One big question that needs to be answered is: Where will I post the yoga teacher reviews? Do there become a category under the yoga blog here? That is one possible scenario. I can go to a class normally, come home review the class here in the blog, and then just feature a link to the blog post in the standard page in the review links. If I were to do this option, I would then have to have "reviews" be a category on the blog and maybe have it's own standard page below meditation. This really needs to be resolved soon because as I have learned with my google Adsense post, I cannot figure out and most likely won't be able to, move blog posts around from one to another. Let's mentally walk through this option. Option 1: Yoga teachers and classes become CATEGORIES in the yoga blog. 1) Acro 2) Vinyasa 3) Pranayama 4) Meditation 5) Teachers/Reviews/Classes (not sure how to name it) ... UGH! Pros: There is a lot of cross pollination, so when I go to an acroyoga class, that triggers, acro, teachers and class. What I did is the acro... plus my thoughts on the teacher... which is or can be separate from my thoughts on the class they taught. Then the issue becomes do I just use some of the categories for photo/video dumping and save the reviews for the review category? Basically what I am getting at... do I try and keep the categories distinct... or do I allow blending. Con: Doing this method might mean that I have to completely reconsider if I will have a separate REVIEW BLOG. Since I can't migrate blog posts to the review blog, so no duplicates, I will be forced to create standard pages and use buttons to reference the yoga reviews found in the yoga blog. How big of a deal is that? That would essentially turn the REVIEW BLOG page into a REVIEW STANDARD PAGE with just a buttload of buttons. Like the game Minesweeper. I kinda like the idea. It keeps that page really simple, but it makes the Group fitness and gym review page or location still TBD. OR... Option 2: Have a database/instructors blog tab I could have a yoga review database BLOG and/or page and keep these discussions separate. The problem then becomes.. what do I do with the other group fitness and gym reviews? Should all three have their own respective blog pages? Should they just have their own respective standard pages, similar to how I am approaching the Sports blogs. This idea can have two possible versions: VERSION 1: Have right next to the Services tab on the navigation bar... a Instructors or Database Tab that is linked to a blog page. In that blog page would be the following categories: Example: INSTRUCTORS or (DATABASE) or (REVIEW) BLOG: One size fits all Catagories: Personal Trainers/ Group Fitness Class/ Yoga Teachers/ Gyms/ At-home workouts The problem with calling it Instructors... which I inherently perfer over Database, is that it kinda singles out at-home workouts. I want people to send in their at-home workouts for critique and advice from our staff, but they aren't instructors. I could have it be a REVIEWS tab, I guess that solves it.. but then the issue becomes... how do I incorporate technology, food, apparel, into that blog? VERSION 2: Have multiple blog tabs. Personal Trainer Blog Group Fitness Class Blog At-Home Fitness Review Blog Yoga Class Blog I've literally been sitting at the computer with a blank stare on my face for about 3 days now. I've been looking at comparable websites... thewirecutter.com, pixar.com, bgr.com, rottentomatoes.com ect... and they haven't been much help. Mostly because they have a team of professional web-designers and aren't constrained by the limitations of a website builder like Weebly. Don't get me wrong.. I really do enjoy the simplicity and depth Weebly offers. I chose it over Wix and square space, but the single fact that I can't move blog posts from one to another is a HUGGGGGGEEEEEE negative. I have to get the feel of it right on the outset or risk major future overhaul problems. I'm very close to solving this problem. The major breakthrough occurred the other day when I decided that I could do standard pages with links to blog posts but not vice versa. The other issue I have is that I can't hyperlink to blog pages, just blog posts.. OR.... Option 3: utilize non-clickable tab menus and create an Instructors standard page under the reviews blog page tab. While this makes sense only because it is visually pleasing on an ideal menu tree... reviews should go under reviews... It means that I would have to have the reviews tab be.. the one blog DUMP for everything from review restaurants, recipes, technology, clothing, gyms, trainers ect... all only seperated and navigated by what will soon to be an overwhelmed category catalog. Conclusion: I think the most likely solution is just to pick option 2. Have a dedicated Instructor tab blog page that is utilized for personal trainer reviews and group fitness classes. I can sneak at-home reviews under the review blog page utilizing the fitness category label. Next issue to deliberate. Photos, videos, sports, how do I organize those tabs
